Figure 1: The subwoofer of the JVC Sophisti SP-NXF7.
This JVC subwoofer of mine is an absolute beast! Even on its lowest setting, -12, it literally shakes the walls.
Figure 2: The effect that this subwoofer has on the crockery! I sketched this very quickly with pencils and Oil Pastels.
I was watching a programme on UTV1 a year or two ago, a programme that commemorated the Irish winners of the Eurovision Song Contest. Dana, who won the contest in 1970, was performing.
Figure 3: Dana, who won the Eurovision Song Contest, in Amsterdam, with All Kinds of Everything, is, unlike Meghan Trainor, not generally considered to be “all about da bass.”
I had the T.V. sound channeled into the optical auxiliary input of my JVC sound system.
Now Mrs Rosemary Scallon is not an artiste renowned for her hard-hitting bass beats. Even so, my sub-woofer picked up a bass frequency and amplified it to such an extent that the walls began to shake. The cacophony became so violent and unbearable, that I had to switch the sound-system off, and switch back to the sound of the T.V. speakers.
